Show and Tell Focus Reflection

Awoken by a screech, Jordan heaved a sigh and took his date by the hand. His night had already gone awry when the rental company went AWOL, and was reduced to flagging down a taxi at the last minute, pick up his date in a disappointing vehicle, and sit through an hour of heavy downtown traffic. The vents of the vehicle had a scent redolent of rose petals, compromise, and disappointment.

Handing the driver his fee, Jordan closed the door behind himself, only to notice that his coat was caught in the door after it had closed. The hasty cab driver had already began his search for a new victim though, and Jordan's coat with it, but not before knocking Jordan down and almost bringing him along. Dusting himself off, Jordan smiled, and with an awkward laugh, took his date by the arm into the fated establishment.

It was the grand opening of Le Establishment Grande, and the prices were evident.
"I think I'll stick to the appetizer and wine.", Jordan said, a knot forming in his throat, as he noted his wallet was about to get much thinner. His date, however, had other plans. Jordan started refinancing his home in his mind, as bad went to worse.
